I’ve decided it’s best if I don’t perform tonight with the Inspiral Carpets in Newcastle. Today is the funeral of my baby girl, Luna Bliss who died on the 20th April aged just 34 days. I originally intended to come to the gig with the band immediately after Luna’s funeral. My wife and myself have insisted the Inspirals go ahead and play tonight’s gig without me. I’ve asked my close friend from Newcastle, Mike Porter to stand in for me on keyboards tonight. He has followed the band from the early days and learned to play keyboards by listening to Inspiral Carpets records. He’s an amazing keyboard player who played at my wedding and again today at my daughter’s funeral.

I hope you understand and appreciate my reasons for not being in Newcastle tonight

IT’S A CUT ABOVE THE REST…AS HECTOR BOON RAISES OVER £3,000

Clint’s son, Hector has been raising money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Mary’s Hospital in Manchester; where his baby sister, Luna Boon is currently being cared for. Hector (age 5), has shown just what a true Super Hero he is, by allowing Lauren from Sassoon Salon Manchester to cut off all his lovely long locks, so as to raise enough money to buy some special nursing chairs which offer the vital contact between parents and their preterm infants. The technique known as’ Kangaroo Care’ provides skin-to-skin contact between parent and baby which in turn provides physiological and psychological warmth and bonding.

Hector recieved his first ever haircut this morning and has now raised over £3,000. If he raises more than enough for the medical equipment, he would like to buy some games to entertain older siblings like himself, when they go to visit their younger brothers or sisters.
